The Department of Education, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, organized a guest lecture on “Mixed Methods Research” on October 7, 2025. The lecture was delivered by Dr. M.A. Sudhir, UGC Emeritus Professor, Department of Education, Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University), Tamil Nadu.
The programme was chaired by Prof. Lungsang Zeliang, Head of the Department of Education, and attended by faculty members and research scholars. Prof. Zeliang introduced Dr. Sudhir in an inspiring and heartfelt manner, recalling his long-standing connection with Northeast India. Dr. M.R.N. Babu delivered the welcome note, highlighting Dr. Sudhir’s distinguished academic journey and contributions.
In his address, Dr. Sudhir extended greetings from Gandhigram Rural Institute and warmly invited participants to visit his university. He reflected on his enriching experiences in Northeast India, calling it his “golden period.” He emphasized the importance of research in driving societal progress and urged scholars to pursue their work with diligence and intellectual curiosity. His lecture on Mixed Methods Research was insightful and engaging, illustrated with relevant real-life examples that deepened participants’ understanding of the topic. The programme concluded with an interactive session, allowing participants to engage in meaningful discussions with the distinguished professor.
