Mizoram edged past Nagaland by seven runs in a closely contested final to clinch the NECDC U23 Women’s Interstate Tournament 2026 title at the Sikkim Cricket Ground, Rangpo.

After being put in to bat, Mizoram were bowled out for 75 in 20 overs in a low scoring encounter. Vanlalruatpull top scored with 16 off 21 balls, holding the innings together as runs proved difficult to come by.
Nagaland’s bowlers kept tight control throughout. Sariba Khan returned figures of 2 for 4 in four overs, while Vipeni Awomi picked up 2 for 10 in four overs, restricting Mizoram to a modest total.
In reply, Nagaland were bowled out for 68 in 17.5 overs while chasing 76 for victory. Najmeen led the effort with 25 off 32 balls and Vipeni Awomi added 13 off 15, keeping the chase alive. However, regular wickets halted the momentum at crucial stages.
Hmangaihsangi Syhlo produced a decisive spell of 4 for 15 in four overs, breaking through the Nagaland batting line up and ensuring Mizoram maintained control in the closing stages. She was named Player of the Match for her performance.
Nagaland had elected to field after winning the toss. Mizoram’s disciplined bowling effort ultimately proved the difference as they secured the title, while Nagaland finished as runners up after a competitive showing in the final.
