The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has revised the prices of pork meat within the municipal jurisdiction due to an increase in the base market prices. The new rates, effective immediately, are as follows: Rs 350 per kilogram for cut meat, Rs 290 per kilogram for wholesale/live weight, Rs 320 per kilogram for head/leg, and Rs 270 per kilogram for stomach/intestine.
The MMC has directed all pork sellers, locally known as mohulders, to strictly adhere to the revised rates. Any mohulder found selling pork above the prescribed prices within the MMC jurisdiction will face penalties under relevant provisions of the law.
