The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has directed the public, traders, sellers and other concerned persons within its jurisdiction to strictly comply with restrictions on firecrackers in pursuance of directions issued by the Supreme Court.
The notification, issued by ADC and Chief Executive Officer, MMC, Atsungba Walling, stated that the restrictions were communicated by the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, through a letter dated September 24, 2026.
The MMC advised the public, traders and sellers to refrain from the “manufacture, sale, purchase and use of banned firecrackers” and to comply with all applicable rules and directions.
It further stated that any violation of the directions would be dealt with in accordance with the applicable laws and rules.
The notification was issued for information and strict compliance by all concerned.
