RO issues Notice for Nominations
Mokokchung, March 10 (MTNews): Following the publication of ‘Election Program’ by the Nagaland State Election Commission for the conduct of elections to the various municipal and town councils in Nagaland, the ADC and Returning Officer of Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), Chumlamo Humtsoe has on 10 March issued the notice for nominations for interested candidates.
It was informed in the notice that an election is to be held for a member each for all the 18 wards under MMC with ward numbers 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 reserved for women.
Nomination papers may be delivered by the candidate or the proposer to the MMC Returning Officer at the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ) and RO between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM on any day other than public holiday from 3 April but not later than 3:00 PM of 10 April, the notice read. “Forms of nomination papers may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid,” it added.
The nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny on 12 and 13 April at the office of the ADC HQ and RO MMC, it was informed.
It was further mentioned that notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or the proposer or election agent who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to the office of the ADC HQ and RO MMC before 3:00 PM on 24 April.
In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on 16 May between 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, it further informed.
