Mokokchung, 7 June (MTNews): Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) inaugurated a much-needed mini truck dedicated to sanitation works. The acquisition of this truck, valued at INR 17,81,500, became possible through government funding provided by the 15th Finance Commission. The inauguration took place at the MMC Complex on Wednesday with a dedicatory prayer by Rev Sentimeren Jamir, Associate Pastor of MTBA.

Chumlamo Humtsoe, the ADC and Administrator of MMC, highlighted the pressing need for additional sanitation vehicles, stating that prior to this acquisition, only one truck was available for the council’s sanitation operations. Humtsoe expressed gratitude for the new truck, which fulfills a long-felt requirement, and expressed hope for further government assistance in procuring more vehicles.

 

With the addition of the new mini truck to their fleet, the MMC possesses one cesspool and a fleet of three trucks, with one being non-operational.
