MMC schedules stakeholder meetings on new Solid Waste Management Rules

The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has scheduled a series of stakeholder consultation meetings from July 20 to 22 at the MMC Conference Hall to discuss the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026.

According to a notice issued by MMC Chairperson Imkongchuba A, the meetings aim to deliberate on the provisions of the new rules, discuss the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, address implementation-related issues and seek suggestions for effective solid waste management within the municipal jurisdiction.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

• July 20, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Shopping Complex Tenants.
• July 20, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm: Old Town Hall and New Market Salangtem.
• July 20, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm: Hostels, Homestays, PGs, Hotels and KFC.
• July 20, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Fruits, Vegetables, Tamul Patta and Pan Shops.
• July 20, 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm: Hardware Shops, Workshops/Garages, Agencies and Distributors.
• July 21, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Ready Garments, Second Hands and Tailors.
• July 21, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm: Bakeries, Paper Plate/Cup Manufacturers and Printing Presses.
• July 21, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm: Pharmacies, Clinics, Pharma Companies and Suppliers.
• July 21, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Channa/Jai Wala, Street Vendors and Fast Food Vendors.
• July 21, 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm: Sports Council Mokokchung and Religious Places.
• July 22, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: All Government and Private Schools and Colleges.
• July 22, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm: Electrical and Electronics Repairing Shops.
