The Nagaland Bible College (NBC) Mokokchung held its 2nd Graduation Service of the Institute of Inter-Cultural Studies with Shilula Imchen, Associate Pastor MTBA as the convocation speaker at Discovery Hall, NBC Campus, Artang Ward on Wednesday.
Shilula Imchen during her address stated that Ministry and Mission works are for everyone who is willing to worship the Lord. She added that it shouldn’t be of the notion that only theology graduates can do ministry or mission works whilst also urging the graduates to do their best in preaching the gospel.
She went on to inform that one should know the definite answer to the two questions of “Who we are and whose we are” to be able to do successful ministering and serve the Lord.
Imchen added that there would be many people who will try to pull one down with temptations and being ridiculed for choosing the Lord’s path but urged the graduates to have faith in the Lord.
During the program, Dr. Sentila, Principal NBC commissioned eight students as graduates, namely Akumlong, Imtitula Aier, Kensangla, Longrimanen, Merentemjen Longkumer, Nokkap Wangsa, Pangertemsu and Vedalu Dzudo while also commissioning NBC alumnus Daniel Kondhu as Christian Minister with the Certificate of License for administering Evangelism, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Earlier, Mayang, Vice Principal gave the welcome address and Limaonen, coordinator, IICS gave a brief report on IICS while Imtitula Aier gave a brief note on behalf of the graduating students.
Hear from the Graduates!
Akumlong: Prior to IICS, I believed missions were something reserved for super spiritual people. It became very clear that God wants to use all of us actively for the story of redemption He is continuing to write. I intend to live with purpose. I intend to live in obedience to God. I intend to keep saying yes to Him as he asks me to engage those who have never heard His name.
Imtitula Aier: It was never easy but I got a step closer to my dreams. This course has brought an immense significance in my life. The knowledge, friendship and love I have gained from here will always be in my heart. Here’s to a sweet ending and to a new beginning.
Kensangla: This training session has augmented both my mental and spiritual growth. It has taught me to respect and appreciate different religious beliefs and has enhanced deeper understanding of inter-cultural values. It has prepared me to carry the Gospel by penetrating through cross-culture. Indeed, it has been a transforming and interactive session, which will help me in days to come.
Longrimanen: IICS course has helped me to get new insights of different cultures and helped me to grow spiritually.
Merentemjen Longkumer: It was an incredible experience! Praise God. To be with the family of IICS training, it was the greatest blessing of my life. It has really helped me in personal growth as well as spiritual identity. I have encountered so many beautiful people during this short time which helped me to draw closer to God. I believe I will never be the same person again, and have realized that I have a great responsibility to be fulfilled through what God has bestowed upon me. God bless NBCI
Nokkap Wangsa: Taking IICS course has enabled me to grow spiritually, got the opportunity to experience different cultures, got more boldness to stand in the pulpit and share the word of God more confidently, got the opportunity to experience and learn from many resource persons in a short period of time.
Pangertemsu: IICS has been an eye opener for me. It taught me the importance of cross-culture ministry in today’s world of cultural and social complexities. This course will give me immense opportunity to venture out for mission and ministry according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Vedalu Dzudo: This 4-month stay at IICS has impacted me so much with positive influence and helped me to know the purpose of my life and turned my ‘mess’ into a message.
