Mokokchung, 17 December (MTNews): The 3rd edition of the Meletyongpang Badminton Tournament was held from 14 to 16 December 2023 at the Meletyongpang Badminton Court, Marepkong Ward, Mokokchung.
The tournament was organized by the Melityongpang Badminton, an 11-member group committed to identifying and supporting young players. Taliangshi, the President of Meletyongpang Badminton, emphasized their goal to nurture talent and address financial barriers that some families face in participating in such events. He acknowledged the financial contribution from the group members and contributions from various families, individuals, and well-wishers, expressing hope that the tournament would contribute to the development of skilled players.
In the junior category, Shuttlers and Stokers were declared the winners and runners-up respectively while in the senior category, Chomp & Stomp and 2011 were declared as winners and runners-up respectively. Meyanuksung and Otongdang were recognized as the Most Promising Player and Player of the Tournament, respectively.
