Five ward authorities of Mokokchung Town have submitted a plea to the Director of the Urban Development Department of Nagaland, Kohima for special sanction regarding the dire state of the road and drainage system stretching from Rotary Junction to IOC Petrol Pump.
Representing the concerns of the general public and the five wards – Sangtemla, Arkong, Aongza, Salangtem, and Kichutip – the Chairmen of the five wards highlighted the deteriorating condition of the road, describing it as one of the neglected areas for many years. The plea emphasized the dilapidated state with no proper drainage system, adding that it needs immediate repair.
The ward authorities further requested the Director of UD to grant special sanction for major road repairs with a proper drainage system for the aforementioned road. This, the ward authorities stressed, would significantly benefit commuters and residents alike, particularly those residing in the five wards mentioned.
