Aongza Ward Yimden became the first ward authority in Mokokchung town to organise an elaborate Tsüngremmung celebration, held on August 1 at Aongza Ki.
The programme featured a welcome address by Aongza Ward chairman R Longritemjen Ao, a cultural song presentation by the wives of Ward Yimden members, Tsüngremmung greetings from former Aongza Ward chairman Sashiwati, a block-wise Tsüngremmung song competition, a cockfight presentation by the Aongza Ward Youth Association, tug-of-war, a season’s song presentation by Aongwa Ward Yimden, a lucky draw, and a mass feast.
