Athletes from the Mokokchung District Wushu Association (MDWA) put up an impressive performance at the first State-Level Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior Wushu (Sanda) Championship held at the Pele Khezhie Indoor Stadium, Kohima, from October 28 to 29.

Mokokchung athletes bag 11 medals at State-Level Wushu Championship

Organized by the Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS), the two-day event witnessed participation from districts across the state.

The Mokokchung contingent, comprising 12 athletes—11 male and one female—won a total of 11 medals, including 4 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze.

The Mokokchung team was led by Team Manager Rongsentoshi Jamir and Coach Imyuangdang.

The championship marked the first state-level Wushu (Sanda) event in Nagaland.

Gold medalists from Mokokchung included:
· Rengpal Dey (48 kg below, Junior – Male)
· Bendangkokba (85 kg below, Senior – Male)
· Rongsendong (75 kg, Senior – Male)
· Nukshikala (70 kg below, Senior – Female)

Silver medalists:
· Riad (65 kg, Senior – Male)
· T. Lensarnok Lkr (56 kg, Junior – Male)
· Anungdanger (80 kg, Senior – Male)
· Takuwapang (70 kg, Senior – Male)

Bronze medalists:
· Chubaonen (60 kg, Junior – Male)
· Tharshin (60 kg below, Senior – Male)
· Tiakaba (52 kg below, Senior – Male)
