Mokokchung took the lead in the 12th minute when Kiphire’s Nyeiwang turned the ball into his own net while attempting a clearance. Just six minutes later, Tongpangnokdang added a second with a composed strike to put Mokokchung firmly in control.

Kiphire struggled to regain composure as Mokokchung continued to dominate. Sentisang scored his first goal in the 36th minute, followed by a second in the 41st minute. He completed his hat-trick in the 48th minute, effectively sealing the outcome of the match.

Substitute Moajang came on to add further misery for Kiphire, scoring in the 67th minute to make it 6–0. Mokokchung maintained defensive discipline to secure a clean sheet, rounding off a comprehensive team performance. The match was played in good spirit and saw no bookings or disciplinary action.

Mokokchung were dominant in every department, from midfield control to final-third execution. The early own goal rattled Kiphire, and the team never recovered as Mokokchung kept the pressure high throughout.

Kiphire will be left to reflect on a difficult outing that exposed key defensive vulnerabilities, while Mokokchung will take confidence from a result that clearly signals their intent in the tournament.

With today’s result, Mokokchung are, in all likelihood, through to the quarterfinals from Group C, although other scenarios remain mathematically possible. They had earlier defeated Wokha 3–1 and will play their final group match against Phek on 9 August. Phek, meanwhile, is the other strong contender to qualify from Group C, having already beaten Kiphire 2–1. They are set to face Wokha on 6 August. The outcome of the Phek–Wokha match will be crucial in determining the final qualification scenario for the group.
