A farewell programme in honour of the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, was held on 7th May 2025 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mokokchung.

In his farewell speech, Thsuvisie Phoji thanked the people of Mokokchung for their support and affection during his nearly three-year tenure in the district. He expressed gratitude to officers of various departments, administrative officers, the police department led by the Superintendent of Police, all civil society groups, and institutions for the love and guidance they extended to him. He remarked that any good done during his tenure was a reflection of the people and by God’s grace. He urged the public to extend the same support and guidance to the incoming Deputy Commissioner, stating that real change in the community requires teamwork and collective effort.

The incoming Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, in his brief speech, asked the people to consider him as a son of Mokokchung, noting that he began his administrative career in the district as a probationer. As a young officer still in the learning phase, he said he would need the support of all officers, civil societies, and staff. He welcomed suggestions from the public and pledged to dedicate his time and knowledge for the welfare of the district.

Short speeches were delivered by the President of the Mokokchung District GB Association, the Chairman of Khensa Village Council (on behalf of all the villages in the district), a representative from the Ao Senden (on behalf of Ao civil societies), the Chairman of MMC, PA to DC, Principal of ITI (on behalf of DPDB Mokokchung), ADC Mangkolemba (on behalf of administrative officers), and the Sr. SP of Mokokchung. A farewell tune was performed by Ms. Yimkum, while ADC HQ Mokokchung chaired the programme.
