The Mokokchung District Combined Colleges (MDCC), consisting- Fazl Ali College Students’ Union, People’s College Students’ Union, Tuli College Students’ Union and Jubilee Memorial College Students’ Council, has conveyed their deepest condolences to the family of late Mapuienla Longkumer, of St. Joseph University, Chumoukedima, and prayed that her soul rest in peace.
Meanwhile, the MDCC has also condemned the hit-and-run case and has urged the authorities to book the culprit. “Through this note, we ardently condemn the inhumane and reckless behavior displayed by the driver in the abominable act of hit and run resulting in the death of the innocent Naga student on the 25th of May, 2022, at Ikishe Model Village, Chumoukedima,” a joint statement from MDCC read.
“We the MDCC students’ bodies strongly urge the law enforcement authorities to expedite the investigations regarding this heinous act of recklessness to identify and apprehend the perpetrator at the earliest, so as to deliver justice to the innocent victim’s family and also to the students as a whole,” it further said. MDCC also acknowledged the heartfelt efforts of the student bodies and different organizations in consoling the bereaved family during this time of hardship.
