Mokokchung, 10 January (MTNews): The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, has in a notification stated that certain schools within the district have yet to complete the updation of Students Profile 2023-24 in the UDISE portal, despite repeated reminders from officials involved. This delay has raised concerns as the deadline for the entire UDISE+ & SDMS 2023-24 exercise was to be completed by 30 November 2023 by all categories of schools in the state as notified by the Commissioner & Secretary, School Education and SCERT.

“This kind of lackadaisical attitude by the schools is being viewed very seriously as it directly affects the completion of entire district data in time,” the Deputy Commissioner cautioned.

In this connection, heads of the defaulting schools have been directed by the Deputy Commissioner to complete the entire exercise latest by 15 January 2024, after which no updation can be done by the school due to closure of the portal by the Ministry.

The Deputy Commissioner’s notification further cautioned that failure to meet the extended deadline will lead to the invocation of the non-cooperation clause. Additionally, schools may face de-recognition or be presumed non-existent, as notified by the department.

A total of 28 schools under five EBRC blocks in the district have been found yet to complete the data updation (see table below).
