The Mokokchung District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) organized an awareness program on February 24, 2025, focusing on two key National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) schemes aimed at supporting victims of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, as well as child-friendly legal services.

The event highlighted the NALSA scheme for victims of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, launched in 2015, as well as the NALSA Child-Friendly Legal Services Scheme, introduced in 2024.

Julian Sitlhou, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of the Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority, played a pivotal role in sensitizing attendees about the initiatives. She emphasized the importance of establishing Legal Services Units for Children in each district, which aim to provide accessible legal assistance to children, particularly victims of crimes and trafficking.

The program included an interactive session where stakeholders including representatives from Child Helpline Mokokchung, the District Child Protection Unit, Women Police, Sakhi One Stop Centre, the Child Welfare Committee, and the Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority addressed concerns and discussed the implementation of these schemes.
