The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union, Mokokchung (ENPUM), has withdrawn its public warning notice issued regarding objectionable and manipulated content on social media.
In a clarification issued on 21 September, ENPUM stated that the circular issued on 18 September, bearing reference number ENPUM/2026-09-2 and dated 16 September, was intended as a general awareness notice.
The organisation clarified that the notice did not name or target any particular tribe, individual or institution. It also expressed regret over any hurt sentiments or misunderstanding caused by the circular.
“In the interest of clarity and to avoid any further misunderstanding,” the ENPUM executive unanimously resolved to withdraw the circular, it stated.
The decision was taken during an Executive and Official Emergency Meeting held on 21 September at the ENPUM Treasurer’s office.
ENPUM expressed appreciation for the understanding, cooperation and goodwill of all concerned.
