Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the Chief Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Officer on February 19, 2026, at the college campus. The agreement establishes a structured framework for academic collaboration and technical cooperation between the two institutions. The initiative was facilitated academically by the Department of Zoology.
The MoU aims to promote interdisciplinary engagement in the fields of animal husbandry, veterinary sciences, and livestock management. Under the agreement, students of Fazl Ali College will receive structured opportunities for practical training, field visits, and exposure to livestock and poultry management systems. The collaboration will also cover disease control measures, vaccination programmes, and veterinary public health practices, enhancing experiential learning and professional competence among students.
The agreement further envisages joint workshops, awareness programmes, community based extension services, and knowledge sharing sessions aimed at contributing to the welfare of communities in Mokokchung district.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr I Wati Imchen, Principal of Fazl Ali College, highlighted the growing importance of the animal husbandry and veterinary sector in addressing challenges related to livestock health, food security, and rural livelihoods. He said the MoU would serve as a vital institutional mechanism to integrate academic learning with field based expertise.
Dr Tiachuba, Chief Veterinary Officer of Mokokchung district, appreciated the initiative and assured full institutional support to ensure effective and sustained collaboration under the agreement.
