The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex in the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Vesupra Kezo.

Addressing the gathering, Verma said the initiative was part of the nationwide celebration aimed at highlighting India’s unity and collective strength. “The National Flag is a symbol of respect and pride for the nation, representing the very face of our country,” he said.

The DC noted that the Government of India had relaxed the Flag Code of India, allowing citizens to display the National Flag at their homes and workplaces. He thanked the riders for their participation and urged citizens to use the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to national unity and integrity, stronger community bonds and the celebration of unity in diversity.

Led by the DC and Sr SP, the tricolour-clad motorcycle convoy proceeded from the DC Office Complex through BOC Area, Public Ground and Main Police Point, where the rally culminated.

The event set a patriotic tone for the district’s Independence Day celebrations.
