The administration, led by the ADC, along with the Mangkolemba Town Council assessed the damage following the incident. Alemtoshi said the administration had agreed to provide machinery to clear debris from the affected roads.

According to the ward councillor, the flash flood occurred after the locally known Ngisameyong overflowed. The watercourse flows into the Tzürang River.

He said Mangkolemba experienced heavy rainfall towards the morning, followed by another spell of heavy rain at around 9:30 p.m. The rainfall continued for several hours before the flash flood occurred.

The extent of the damage is being assessed by the administration.
