Mokokchung, August 8 (MTNews): The Bharatiya Janta Party Mokokchung District received a shot in the arm as thirteen former officials from different political parties joined the party, who were formally inducted into the BJP fold in a ceremonial program. BJP Nagaland State Unit President and Minister for Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer and the BJP district in-charge and former Nagaland minister, Nuklutoshi Longkumer attended the induction ceremony here today at BJP office, Mokokchung .

 

 

The state president while welcoming the inductees as BJP ‘karyakartas’ said that the BJP is the largest political party in the world, and that the party is for all because the BJP endeavours for the social, economic and political uplift of the people, particularly the tribal people of the country.

 

He also said that there should be no confusion with regard to religion or religious belief. In this regard, he asserted that the BJP in its Constitution and Rule advocates for secularism and that BJP stands for all the communities of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President JP Nada.

 

He urged the people not to resort to “religious stigmatization among the Naga people as India, being a democratic country, will stand for the people.” He said that 99.9 percent of the BJP karyakartas in Nagaland are Christians. He further welcomed all to work hand in hand for the development of Nagaland.

 

“I extend my sincere congratulations to the newly inducted members of BJP Mokokchung. I am sure they will undoubtedly put forth a lot of effort to advance the interests of the party and society at large,” Imna Along tweeted later.

 

The day’s program was led by District Vice President I Lanutoshi Longkumer while the Mahila President Meyisenla Mollier pronounced invocation while district BJP Vice President Bendangtoshi Jamir welcomed the gathering.

 

BJP Mokokchung District In-charge and former minister, Nuklutoshi Longkumer exhorted the gathering while the district president Imolemba Jamir felicitated the new inductees. Words were also expressed by the new inductees who were former NDPP Mokokchung Division officials.

 

Vote of thanks was delivered by District General Secretary, T. Temsu Imchen. The program ended with a salute to the National anthem.
