In recognition of Senior Citizens’ Sunday, Süngkomen Baptist Church organized a free medical camp exclusively for senior citizens on October 1. The initiative aimed to honor and support elders in the community who often face challenges in accessing healthcare.
The camp was conducted by a dedicated seven-member Palliative Care team from Impur Christian Hospital (ICH), led by Dr Aka Longchar, Medical Superintendent, and coordinated by Narola Walling, Chaplain, ICH. The team provided medical consultations, basic health checks, and distributed medicines to all participants.

A total of 92 senior citizens received free medical treatment and medications. The Süngkomen Baptist Church expressed gratitude to the ICH team for their service and commitment, acknowledging their efforts as key to the success of the camp. “We also pray for their health and resources to assist many people who are in dire need of quality healthcare,” it added.
“As the church continues to reach out to various segments of the community, we pray that God empowers them to meet the needs of many individuals in the future,” Matsüng Longkumer, Assistant Pastor, Süngkomen Baptist Church said.
