The much-awaited futsal tournament in Mokokchung commenced today with an exciting opening day that saw 21 teams showcasing their skills and compete for the championship.
The event, organized by Sports Active Mokokchung, drew a crowd of enthusiastic fans and players alike, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the Mojabi Futsal Turf in Salangtem Ward.
The participating teams consisted of both seasoned players and newcomers, ranging in age from teenagers to middle-aged adults, representing teams from Mokokchung, Kohima, Dimapur and even from Manipur.
The tournament kicked off with a short opening ceremony where Imkummeren, Youth Mentor, Alempang Baptist Church pronounced the dedicatory prayer.
Off the court, there were plenty of activities to keep the spectators engaged. Fans enjoyed delicious food and beverages from various stalls as they cheered on their favorite teams.
As the day came to a close, the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming matches remained high. With the competition set to conclude on Wednesday, futsal fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing more thrilling matches and witnessing the rise of new champions.
