Mokokchung, November 17 (MTNews): The youth organizations of four wards in Mokokchung town have in a joint representation on Thursday requested the Chief Minister of Nagaland to intervene and ensure the release of the Rs. 1.7 Crore fund which has already been sanctioned for maintenance of the Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) Road immediately.
The youth organizations of Penli Ward, Majakong Ward, Lijaba Lijen Ward and Artang Ward said in the representation that the people of Mokokchung were immensely pleased when it was announced by him in the floor of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, during the Twelfth Session of the 13th NLA, on September 22 that the Department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs has sanctioned Rs. 1.7 Crore for maintenance of the road leading to Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung. The youth organizations also quoted media reports of the chief minister stating that the work would start as and when the working season arrives.
The youth organizations said that they have learnt from the Urban Development Department Office in Mokokchung that the sanctioned amount has not been released as of date, because of which the road has not been repaired yet. They also mentioned that the existing condition of the said road was in such a deplorable state causing much inconvenience to the commuters, the sick and the public in general.
The joint representation was appended by Imlikumzuk, president of Penli Ward Youth Association; Lanulemba Longchar, president of Majakong Ward Youth Association; Nungsangyanger, president of Lijaba Lijen Ward Youth Association; and Lanunungsang, president of Artang Ward Youth Association. The representation was submitted through the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mokokchung.
