The Mokokchung Inter-School Badminton Championship 2022 organized by the Mokokchung District Badminton Association, which began on May 11, ended today with Aotula T. Imchen(IPS), Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung gracing the brief closing program as the special guest at the Mokokchung Badminton Indoor Stadium.
“In the midst of such time it is appropriate and encouraging to see so many players which is a good reflection and it is small moments and events like this that makes a town what it is today,” she said in her address while stating that it is really encouraging to see so many students from various schools participate in the competition at a time when everyone is glued to social media.
She discussed three elements of sports, stating that sports assist in retaining one’s physical fitness and de-stressing, that sports help instill discipline in a person’s life, and that sports help in teaching the value of respect via respect exhibited to opponents.
She also praised the MDBA for nurturing new talents and urged them to increase their efforts via next level trainings so that the Association can compete at the national level.
Town Higher Secondary School and Jubilee Memorial School were declared winners and runners-up of the tournament Team Championship. More than 130+ students from 12 Schools participated in the tournament.
