More than 500 youths from at least 11 Baptist churches of Mokokchung town representing 9 different Naga tribes as well as the Gorkha community converged at Sungkomen Baptist Church for the 3rd ‘Inter-Tribal Youth Fellowship’ under the theme “Heal Our People” on Sunday evening, August 7.

 

The evening saw a host of participation and showcase of talents from youths of different tribal Baptist Church youth ministries in Mokokchung.
Since 2018, the Sungkomen Baptist Church’s Youth Ministry has been hosting the ‘Inter-Tribal Youth Fellowship’.

 

According to Moa, the youth pastor of Yimyu Baptist Church, who greeted the gathering with the welcome address, the objective of the fellowship is “to glorify God and worship him, to come together, to know each other,” adding that the fellowship is aimed to strengthen the relationship among the different communities of Mokokchung.

 

The fourth edition of the ‘Inter-Tribal Youth Fellowship’ in 2023 (the first 3 been held on 2018,2019 and 2022) will be hosted by Yimyu Baptist Church.

 

Akok Walling, Retd. Principal and Community Educator was the main speaker while Imnichetla eloquently chaired the program.
