Former champions Arkong recovered from their loss to Mongsenbai ward on opening day of the tournament to register a comprehensive win over Marepkong Ward today to book their berth in the quarterfinals. Tajungsang, Talijungba, Arikong and Inovi Chishi scored for Arkong while Marpkong’s Imlisanen scored a consolation goal.
In the second match of the day, a brace by Yashimeren and a goal by Chuba Imchen ensured a 3-1 win over Dilong ward to send Artang ward into the quarterfinals.
The third match of the day saw Penli ward defeating Alempang ward 2-0, a result that ensured Penli ward’s quarterfinal berth. Pool A leader Mongsenbai will meet Pool B runners-up Penli in the quarterfinals while Pool A runners-up Arkong will face Pool B winners Artang ward.
