Artang Ward and Sungkomen Ward advanced to the semifinals of the Mokokchung Inter Ward Football Tournament 2026 after winning their respective quarterfinal matches at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on March 30. Artang defeated Marepkong Ward 4-1, while Sungkomen secured a 3-0 win over Penli Ward to book their places in the last four.
In the first quarterfinal between Marepkong Ward and Artang Ward, Imlisanen scored in stoppage time of the first half to give Marepkong a 1-0 lead at half time. However, the second half belonged to Artang Ward as the former champions netted four goals to keep their quest for a second title alive. Imtimayang equalised in the 56th minute, followed by goals from Chubalemba and Tongpangkokba in the 71st and 73rd minutes. Chubalemba completed his brace in the 87th minute to seal a place in the semifinals.
In the second quarterfinal, Sungkomen Ward defeated Penli Ward 3-0. Sungkomen, who had finished second in Pool B after losing their opening match, overcame Pool A toppers Penli, who had won all their group games. Tarepnungsang gave Sungkomen the lead in the 5th minute, while Temsuyanger added another in the 60th minute. Tarepnungsang struck again in stoppage time to seal the win.
Sungkomen, who reached the semifinals in the last edition and are chasing their maiden title, will face 2021 winners Artang Ward in the first semifinal on April 1.
