Mokokchung, December 28 (MTNews): The long-standing tradition of New Year’s Eve celebration in Mokokchung town, which was earlier reported to have been called offAMP, will be held as usual. A group of like-minded citizens of Mokokchung have come together to organize the event with the slogan, “A people’s initiative in keeping Mokokchung’s tradition alive.”
The event will be held at the quintessential venue – Town Square – beginning 9:00 PM. The event is being organized in collaboration with the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC).
The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung has also granted permission to organize the event as scheduled.
The event is being organized by concerned citizens pooling in their resources and making voluntary contribution.
Meanwhile, the organizers have also extended invitation to the people of Mokokchung to “come and welcome the New Year the Mokokchung way.”
