Mokokchung Law College on July 1 organized an invited talk cum awareness program on the enactment of three new criminal laws: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyan 2023.
The program was chaired by Chubarenla, Assistant Professor at Mokokchung Law College. The welcome address was given by I Mangko Jamir, Principal of Mokokchung Law College, and the special address was delivered by Vesupra Kezo, NPS Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung.
The resource persons speakers included: Dr Kuldeep Singh Panwar, HoD of Law at NU Lumami and Dr Sentikumla, Assistant Professor at the Department of Law, NU, Lumami. Lipokinla, Assistant Professor at Mokokchung Law College, gave the vote of thanks.
Some key highlights of the new criminal laws include: innovative legal procedures, technological advancements, swift judicial processes, protection for vulnerable groups and expanded offenses
This program aimed to raise awareness and provide insights into the significant changes introduced by the new laws.
