Mokokchung, November 7 (MTNews): The Mokokchung Town Lotha Hoho celebrated its 56th Tokhü Emong celebration today at the Town Hall, Mokokchung with E. Etssimongo Ngullie, IPS, DIGP (Range), Mokokchung as the special guest.
Explaining the significance of Tokhü Emong, Ngullie said that the nine-day fall festival honors the culmination of the harvest season. He further went on to say that love and respect among the Lotha community and also to the people they socialize with should be maintained. He underlined the importance of maintaining unity and urged the Lotha community to practice kindness and forgiveness.
In a brief exhortation, Dr. Phyobenthung Odyuo, an associate professor at Fazl Ali College, also emphasized the value of tradition and the significance of mother tongue. Lotha students from Fazl Ali College and Clark Theological College presented songs at the festival celebration.
