Mokokchung, October 20 (MTNews): Under the Swachhata Special Campaign 2.0, during the Kisan Samman Sanmilan on October 17, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung held a swachhata awareness program at the KVK office, where participants were sensitized on the swachhata initiatives undertaken by the government to promote hygienic environment.
The Kendra had also adopted Mongsenyimti village for microbial waste management using vermicompost with two interest groups from the village.
Regarding the Special Campaign 2.0, the Kendra will also organize and conduct Swachhata-related activities at the office and in the neighboring areas throughout the campaign, i.e. from the 2nd to the 31st of October.
Meanwhile, in another program at SDAO, Tuli town, on the 19th October, the Kendra also trained and stressed the farmers on the aspect of managing crop residues e.g mulching for in situ moisture conservation with regard to winter crops.
Similarly, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon organized a special campaign 2.0 to cover a variety of different programmes from October 2nd to October 19th, 2022.
A special Swachh training program was conducted for the women flock of different SHG groups in Aboi town and nearby villages, where awareness was emphasized on sanitation and waste recycling, as well as how to convert crop residue and kitchen waste into wealth.
Under this campaign, a cleanliness drive was carried out in the respective rooms and indoor space of the office building, which included cleaning of respective rooms, corridors, and premises, reviewing progress and weeding out of old files to free up space, maintaining file records in proper places to maintain neat and hygienic condition of the office, and disposing of all old and obsolete furniture and junk materials.
Cleaning of the office compound, removal of unwanted trees, and weed and grass mowing were also completed. In addition to the activities under this special campaign, officials and personnel clear drainage and clean water pipelines, reservoirs, and tanks. This cumulative program will conclude on October 31, 2022.
