MSME-PCI, Mokokchung, has inducted 50 coordinators from 50 villages under Mokokchung District in order to promote traditional artisans and craftsmen. This initiative is part of the Vishwakarma Skill Upgradation Program, which aims to provide recognition and skill upgradation training to traditional artisans and craftsmen.
The induction ceremony, held at Aongza Ki on March 25, 2025, was chaired by Supongyanger, Vice-Chairman of MSME-PCI, Mokokchung. Bendangnukshi Jamir, District Chairman of MSME-PCI, delivered the welcome speech, while Imnayanger Jamir, Vice-Chairman of MSME-PCI, Mokokchung, equipped the coordinators with the necessary awareness.
The 50 coordinators will play a crucial role in identifying and recognizing traditional artisans and craftsmen at the grassroots level in their respective villages. This initiative is expected to boost the livelihoods of these artisans and contribute to the preservation of traditional crafts and skills.
The Vishwakarma Skill Upgradation Program is part of the larger effort to promote entrepreneurship and skill development among traditional artisans and craftsmen. The program includes various components, such as skill assessment, basic training, and advanced training, to help artisans upgrade their skills and access better market opportunities.
