The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has announced a revision of beef prices within its jurisdiction, following a decision by the Committee for Market Rate Regulation & Enforcement. The new rates come into effect immediately.
According to the notice issued by Atsungba Walling, ADC and Chief Executive Officer of MMC, the revised rates for cow and buffalo beef are as follows: cut meat at Rs. 300 per kg, stomach and intestine at Rs. 250 per kg, and head and leg at Rs. 110 per kg.
All beef dealers and retailers have been directed to strictly adhere to the updated rates. The council has warned that any violation of this directive will attract penalties as per municipal regulations.
The move comes in response to an increase in the “base market” rate.
