Mokokchung, February 10 (MTNews): Along with the rest of the country, Mokokchung district observed National Deworming Day 2023 on Friday throughout various schools, AWCs and Health Units.
In its launching program held at Hill View Higher Secondary School Mokokchung, Dr. Imsongienla, MO (Ayush) presented a health talk on the effects of parasitic worms to our health, the importance of hygiene and its treatment to the students and teachers present during the program, a press release from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Mokokchung said.
She cited that the objective of the day is to deworm children and adolescents to reduce the prevalence of parasitic worms in the intestine. She also demonstrated hand hygiene steps to the students, the release said.
At the conclusion of the program, RBSK team along with staff from the office of the CMO Mokokchung took part in administering the dose of Albendazole tablets to the children.
