The National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was observed today by the Mokokchung Voluntary Blood Donors Association and Blood Centre, IMDH, at the Conference Hall, IMDH. Dr Takosunep, Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, attended the program as Chief Guest.
The event saw participation from students and staff of Nagaland University (NU), Lumami campus, the College of Nursing IMDH, members of the Marwari community, and local voluntary blood donors. A total of 12 donors were able to donate blood, while several others were deferred due to medical reasons such as low hemoglobin levels or underweight conditions.
The initiative aimed to promote awareness on the importance of voluntary blood donation and encourage more citizens to contribute to saving lives.
