The National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Mokokchung observed World No Tobacco Day 2025 on 31st May at GMS Senkalemba, Mokokchung, under the theme “Unmasking the appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products.”
Nukshiwati, Consultant, DTCC, delivered a brief PowerPoint presentation on the theme and how to raise awareness about the harmful influences of tobacco. Students were sensitized on the harmful effects of tobacco and encouraged not to be a victim of tobacco.
The programme also included a free oral check-up conducted by Dr. Keneitheja, Dental Surgeon at IMDH Mokokchung, along with the distribution of free oral hygiene kits, including toothbrushes and toothpaste.
A painting competition was organized on the theme, where Mr. Longdichem bagged the 1st prize, Mr. Puniang bagged the 2nd prize, and Miss Khioniu bagged the 3rd prize. Certificates and cash prizes were awarded to the winners.
