The Mokokchung Photography Club (MPC) unveiled its new logo during a special program held today, marking a new chapter for the club as it aims to re-engage the community and foster creativity among photographers in the region and beyond.

The event, held at Urban Hub Cafe, located below Old Town Hall, was chaired by Miss Imkongsenla, and began with an invocation prayer by Mrs. Sentikala. Mr Onenjungshi, the Treasurer of the Photography Club Dimapur (PCD), delivered an address in which he commended MPC for its past contributions, such as hosting photography workshops and seminars that provided local photographers with a platform to showcase their talents. He also acknowledged that the club had been somewhat inactive in recent years due to the busy schedules of its members but expressed excitement about the club’s renewed energy moving forward.

The special guest, Mr Imnaonen, President of the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem, who was also the founder-convener of the MPC, highlighted some of the club’s significant milestones, including the celebration of ‘World Pinhole Photography Day’ in April 2012, a first for Nagaland, which was organized by MPC in collaboration with the Goa-Centre for Alternative Photography (Goa-CAP). He also recalled the unveiling of the world’s first Morung Camera Obscura on May 3, 2012, during the Moatsu Festival at the Amphitheatre in Ungma. This project, an initiative of MPC and Goa-CAP, aimed to popularize photography in Mokokchung by bringing a unique and culturally relevant approach to the art.

Following his remarks, Mr Imnaonen officially unveiled the club’s new logo.

The ceremony concluded with a prayer for the success and growth of the Mokokchung Photography Club, offered by Mr Monglier, Associate Pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo.

With this new logo and renewed commitment, MPC looks forward to continuing its efforts to provide a vibrant platform for photographers in Mokokchung. The Mokokchung Photography Club (MPC), founded in 2011 with the motto “painting with light.” Prompted by a resurgent interest and the growing number of photography professionals and enthusiasts in recent years, the MPC, after a brief hiatus, has been revamped.

  1. certainly like your website but you need to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to inform the truth then again I will definitely come again again.
