Mokokchung, March 15 (MTNews): Based on specific information about the transportation of illegal liquors on March 15, police personnel of Mokokchung PS-II intercepted a truck bearing registration number AS 09 C 9312 at around 1:00 PM at Dikhu Road below Ungma Village. On checking the vehicle, the police recovered and seized 100 cases of IMFL MC Rum and 10 cases of canned beer (Kingfisher) which was concealed inside “secret makeshift compartment.”
Accordingly, the driver of the vehicle namely Ponkaj Gogoi, 25 years, son of Dilip Gogoi, of village Nampur, Assam, presently residing at Jorhat Town was arrested from the spot. In this connection, a case has been registered at MKG PS-II and the person involved in the case has been booked under relevant sections of law. This was stated in a press release issued by Additional SP and PRO, Mokokchung police.
