Mokokchung, 10 August (MTNews): While conducting routine inspection and frisking procedures at Settsu Junction, Mokokchung Police successfully intercepted a Tata Sumo (taxi) bearing registration number NL 01 T 9627 on Wednesday, 9 August. A comprehensive search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 276 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon concealed within a mobile phone box. Additionally, 136 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon were found discreetly stashed within a brown sling bag, and 130 capsules of the same substance were uncovered in a pocket of an Indian Reserve (IR) uniform jacket.
The individual in possession of these illegal substances has been identified as Renpothung Ezung, aged 44, and a resident of Longsachang under the jurisdiction of Wokha. Notably, Mr. Renpothung Ezung serves as a constable in the 9th Battalion of the Nagaland Armed Police (IR) Bn. In this connection, a case has been registered under Mokokchung Police Station-II, Case Number 0034/23, in accordance with Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is currently underway.
