Mokokchung Police organized a mini-marathon on Saturday under the theme “Run for Cyber Security Awareness.” The event was conducted with the objective of raising awareness students and citizens about the importance of cyber security, online safety, and preventive measures against cyber-related crimes.
The race commenced from Police New Reserve and concluded at Police Point, Mokokchung Town. The event saw active participation from schools, colleges, departmental employees, and youth, with a total of 153 individuals taking part in the mini-marathon.
In the school girls category, Imnasenla won the first prize, Imjungbenla Walling secured the second, and Abigail Longkumer came third. For school boys, Talimein Jamir took first place, followed by Lansucha and Chunki Chuchet in the second and third places respectively.
In the women’s open category, Temsunochetla claimed first place, Tiasenla second, and Tajenlemla third. The men’s open category saw Taliyanger Ozukum finish first, Tekasanen Longkumer second, and Mukom C third. Prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 3000, and Rs 2000 were awarded to the first three winners in each category, totaling Rs. 40,000 along with certificates.
Additional Superintendent of Police Y Tumchobemo Yanthan distributed the prizes and congratulated all participants for their enthusiasm and fitness. He also urged the community to remain vigilant about cyber threats, and awareness among family and friends to safeguard against cyber related crimes. He also cautioned youth against sharing sensitive personal images that could be misused by miscreants.
