Mokokchung Police on 29 August conducted a routine check at the Watiyongpang Check Gate and intercepted a vehicle, a Pick-up Truck with registration number AS 11DC 7276. During the search, according to an update from the Addl SP Mokokchung, 320 bottles of Apcores (cough syrup) was discovered in the possession of MD Fardous Alom Mazumder, a 31-year-old resident of Karaikandi, Cachar, Assam.
MD Fardous Alom Mazumder, who resides in Changtongya Town under the jurisdiction of Changtongya Police Station, was arrested. A criminal case has been filed against him under Tuli Police Station, in accordance with Section 22(c) of the NDPS Act. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
