Mokokchung Police on Tuesday published that it had seized goods worth Rs 2.29 crores from a truck that had 50 cartons of imported cigarettes and 130 bags of poppy seeds. Although it did not mention where or when the items were seized, it was informed that the seizure was handed over to Customs (Preventive Division) Team, Kohima for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Nagaland DGP Rupin Sharma also shared the Mokokchung Police report and added that “some heightened law enforcement activities and preventive action by police is on the cards.”
