The Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) held its general meeting on Saturday at the MPC Chamber, during which a new team of office bearers and executive members was officially nominated to serve for the 2025–2027 term.
Aso Imsong, Convenor of the MPC Nominating Committee, presented the nominating report, which was unanimously accepted by the members present. The newly nominated office bearers for the 2025–2027 tenure are: President: Sashimeren Jamir; General Secretary: Yarden Jamir; and Finance Secretary: Imnawabang Jamir
The nominated executive members are Limalenden Longkumer, Tsüngtaluba Imchen, Imrongkumba Aier, Temjennaro Longchar, and Akangnungsang Jamir.
Outgoing President Limalenden Longkumer presided over the meeting and welcomed members before outlining the day’s agenda. Among the items discussed was the formal acceptance of the official description of the MPC logo, a matter that was deliberated and approved by the house.
The audit report for the current term, presented by Audit Convenor Imnawabang Jamir, was reviewed and approved following a round of discussion. The house noted and screened specific remarks highlighted in the auditor’s observations.
Outgoing President Limalenden Longkumer and incoming President Sashimeren Jamir, who also served as the outgoing General Secretary, delivered brief speeches reflecting on the club’s journey and responsib ilities ahead.
