Mokokchung, 9 February (MTNews): The launch of the professional skills program in Tourism and Hotel Management for the first batch, organized by the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM), took place on 8 February 2024 at Jubilee Memorial College, the designated training center for the course. A total of 30 trainees, both from within and outside the college, have enrolled in the training course. This course, approved and sponsored by the Directorate of Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland, is offered free of charge.
Ms Arensungla Aier, Trainer, and Mr Debasish, ITHM Coordinator, were present at the program. Dr Imtiwati Jamir, Principal of Jubilee Memorial College, delivered the welcome remarks, discussing the significance of skill training and the growing demand for skilled workers in the labor market. Mr Debasish, Coordinator at ITHM, shared insights and experiences related to the hospitality sector, including placements in India and abroad, as well as the requirements for successful employment.
Ms Supongsangla Walling, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, led the launching program.
