The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung had on Wednesday announced temporary traffic restrictions and diversion plans for the road repair work scheduled to begin on 11 December along the stretch between Rotary Junction and IOC Junction in Mokokchung town.
However, late Wednesday evening, Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) councilor Imtiyapang issued a public notice stating that the repair work would not commence as scheduled “due to a breakdown of one of the machines at the mixer plant.” The work will be deferred by one to two days, with commencement expected within this revised timeframe.
“As a result, the commencement of work will be deferred by one or two days. We assure you that the repair work will begin within this revised period,” Imtiyapang stated.
He also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and requested public cooperation.
