Mokokchung, 15 September (MTNews): Under the National Suicide Prevention Week Program and District Mental Health program, Jubilee Memorial College (JMC), Mokokchung, organized a seminar on the theme “Creating Hope Through Action” at the college hall.

Sentizungla, a Clinical Psychologist, spoke about the causes of depression and recognizing the warning signs of suicide. She emphasized the risk factors of suicide, such as depression, previous suicide attempts, depressive disorders, PTSD, physical medical conditions, and measures to prevent suicide.

 

Monica Kiaza, a Psychiatric Social Worker, highlighted Tele-MANAS, a comprehensive Mental Health care service, and encouraged students to consult counselors for mental health-related issues by dialing the toll-free number 14416, which will remain confidential.

 

The program was moderated by Dr. Narola, DPO NCD. Students from the BA 1st and BA 3rd semesters attended the seminar.
