Shop your groceries from home!
In a town where traditional markets have long been the heart of shopping, Tzuwasanen has introduced something new and refreshing—a grocery delivery service called ‘Aonsotsu.’ With just a few taps on your phone, residents of Mokokchung can now have their daily essentials delivered right to their door.
The launch event was held on September 2, 2024, at Urban Hub Café, Mokokchung, with MMC Chairman Imkongchuba as the special guest.
According to Sanen, the idea for Aonsotsu has been brewing for nearly a decade. He had long envisioned a service that could cater to the specific needs of his community. He recalled previous attempts made by other people but were thwarted by technical challenges.
“Even before the lockdown, I was planning on this. I think I had been planning for the past 9 to 10 years. There were attempts by others as well in the past, but due to technical issues on websites, they could not run efficiently. However, I am now hopeful that the website will run smoothly,” Sanen shared with MT.
According to Sanen, the motivation behind Aonsotsu extends beyond mere convenience. He sees the app as a tool for social change, particularly in addressing unemployment among the youth. “It is something much needed in the town. At the same time, it is our objective to employ at least one or two of the educated unemployed youths. I also want to encourage and empower uneducated unemployed youths towards self-reliance,” he explained.
Currently, Aonsotsu offers around 50 items, all priced according to rates set by the Mokokchung Municipal Council. The service is available across 18 wards in Mokokchung town, with potential plans to expand to Kohima or Dimapur depending on customer demand. Sanen is also open to collaborating with local bakers, handicraft artisans, and organic farmers who wish to sell their products through the app.
The app, available on the Google Play Store, was developed by a friend of Tzuwasanen in Dimapur. The website, aonsotsu.com, also offers easy access to the service. Delivery charges range from Rs 30 to Rs 50, depending on the distance.
Sanen is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and trust. “My team and I will be responsible for selecting the items as if we are buying for ourselves. We will ensure that they are delivered within one day, and in case of delays, we will try to deliver the next day, especially for perishable items,” he assured.
Regarding payment options, he mentioned that currently, only Cash on Delivery is available.
With four delivery personnel already on board, Aonsotsu is ready to make grocery shopping more convenient and accessible for the people of Mokokchung town.
Mokokchung had taken grocery shopping to a whole different level! The major thing that I like is the fact that all these various products from local farmers and vendors can be viewed right from my home. More information about products and customer reviews can shed light on choosing the best items a little easier. I love how this platform focuses on seasonal produce and promotes special offers to get us trying new ingredients. Deliveries are on time and efficient, therefore making the whole process seamless. A very essential service, indeed, in helping our community have better access to grocery items.
As I website owner I believe the subject matter here is real excellent, thanks for your efforts.
