Mokokchung is set to get its first Futsal pitch amid the growing craze for the sport in the state.
Mojabi Futsal pitch with a dimension of 118-82 ft. play area with FIFA approved quality turf is being set up by Imlikumzuk Kichu of Mokokchung Village.
According to Kichu, the pitch is being set up in accordance with the FIFA approved regulations and that a Mumbai-based company was entrusted to set up the pitch by him.
He said that even though he doesn’t play the game, he has been an avid fan, and with encouragement from his friends and family, he decided to set up the pitch.
Even though the pitch is being set up as a commercial venture for him, he envisioned how it can create a platform and opportunities for the youths to explore their talents.
Kichu said that the pitch will be completed in a week’s time. The Mojabi Futsal pitch is located in Salangtem Ward, below the Bailey bridge.
